Mrs. Evelyn Hargett Murray-Bruce was born to the parentage of Unessee Hargett and Ada Lee Smith Hargett on August 22, 1953 in Valdosta, GA. She attended the Lowndes public school system and graduated from Lowndes High School. She received her Undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL and her Masters degree from Iowa State University. While attending Iowa State University, she met the love of her life and married Ben Murray-Bruce.
Like the sun, Evelyn was a blessing and touched the lives of everyone she met. She was full of laughter and joy. She was a humble country girl. Evelyn loved Jesus, and it showed in every interaction she had with others. She never complained and always saw good in everyone. Though she’s gone, she’ll remain alive in all our hearts forever.

She will be sadly missed by her ten siblings: Robert (Ethelrene) Hargett, Leila Hargett, Jesse (Mary) Hargett, David Hargett, DeLois Hargett, Grace H.
