Geraldine Jerri Martin Tucker

It is with sincere sympathy that Gatlin Mortuary Inc. announces the passing of Geraldine Tucker passed at her residence on  October 15, 2021.  We are honored to be selected by her family to serve them with excellence through professional service.

Geraldine “ Jerri” Martin Tucker was born to her parents on December 8, 1951.  She was raised by her great aunt and uncle Milton Baker and Org Lee Baker. She was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She took her journey to the Lord on October 15, 2021 at the young age of 69. Jerri loved the Lord and devoted her life’s work to being a follower of Christ. She was married to her longtime husband of 50 years, Anderson Tucker, Sr. She was a homemaker for many years after she stopped working, and we all know she loved to decorate her home and cook. She would even decorate and pass along decorations to others too. Her delightful meals and beautiful home were things you would never forget. “Jerri” has touched and is loved by so many people and her infectious love for others will always be remembered.

 Geraldine was a member of New Mt. Zion Church in Clyattville, Georgia where she attended regularly until she could not anymore due to health issues. She then continued to serve the Lord at home with family members and church members who would stop by to fellowship. Her beautiful smile and demeanor will be missed by everyone. If you knew “Jerri” you know that some of the things she loved were the Lord, her family, friends,  jewelry, perfume, and the color red.

She leaves behind her lifelong husband, Anderson Tucker, Sr. Her two handsome sons, Jermaine & Anderson Tucker, Jr. Her loving sister Ella Mae Brown, two sister-in-laws; Angela Tucker Register (Frank*), and Mary Alice Tucker Bolton (Calvin) and her brother-in-law Larry Tucker.

She joins the heavenly gates with her sisters Marie & Shirley Townsend and brother John Adam, Jr.  Her father and mother in law; Ansel and Luneal Greggs Tucker, her brother and sister in law Harry and Gloria Shivers, her brother in law Frank Register and her very special dog, “Sassy.”

She was a loving and devoted “Grandma Jerri” to her only grandchildren; Railyn & Jordan Tucker (Jermaine). She also leaves her daughter in love Rico “Ri” Tucker,  a special niece Tracy Nelson (Frank), and one of her closest cousins, Emma Sanders. Additionally, she leaves behind a family of nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and her caregivers: Sabrina and Sharline who she loved dearly.

Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021 at New Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Clyattville Georgia. Pastor Frank Nelson will officiate. Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Gatlin Mortuary from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
