Jared Alford was born on April15, 1957 to Odis & Voncile Alford.in Summerville N.J. Jared was reared and educated in the Newark public school system. He was baptized into the church of Christ in Newark,N.J. at a young age. He graduated from Irvington technical high school Then attended Southwestern Christian College in Terrell Texas, where he met and married Susan Regina Dotson To this union 3 children were added Voncile, Jared II and ,Jarod Alford Jared Last employment was at Greystone Psychiatric Hospital for many years as a human service technician. Due to blindness and extremely bad health Jared spent his last 6 years at Parkcresant Rehabilitation and nursing facility in East Orange, N.J. Jared was preceded in death by his parents Odis and Voncile ,Alford 3 brothers,Abner Alford,Odis B. Alford,and Raynard curvington His beloved daughter,Voncile Alford.
He leaves to mourn his memories his two sons: Jared II (NiShonda) of Valdosta Ga Jarod(Tameka) of Atlanta Ga his grandchildren: Jashon, Janiya, Jaden, Alahna,JaLaina, Alyssa, Aliyah, and Allura. one sister: Gloriah Phillis Alford Lawson Brother in law: Willie Lawson of Columbia S.C. one sister in law Otelia Alford of Aiken S.C. one brother: Kevin Grice of Orlando Florida Seven nephews ,three nieces and their families. Graveside service will be held on Saturday April 4, 2020 @ 3 p.m. (Central Time) at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Dothan Alabama. Bro. Jamie Dotson will officiate.
