Mr. Johnnie White was born on April 17, 1957, in Valdosta, Georgia, to Thelma Whitehead.
Johnnie attended Valdosta City Schools. He had a special love for cooking and singing.
One of Johnnie’s favorite places to be was in a kitchen. He worked for many years as a cook at Gold Plate Restaurant in Valdosta, Ga. and was known for his fried chicken. With his employment as a cook, he fed many people throughout his life.
Johnnie never met a stranger no matter where he was. He had an unforgettable laugh with a great sense of humor. Johnnie will truly be missed and will remain forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Mary Lee Sloan; Sisters, Rosa Lee Newsome, Mary Smith and Velma Whitehead and Nieces, Julia Anderson-Henley, Rosetta Newsome-Reynolds and Charlie Mae House.
Mr. Johnnie leaves to cherish his loving memories to his Mother: Thelma Whitehead; Sister: Jeanette Anderson of Valdosta, GA; Brothers: Edward Whitehead of Valdosta, GA, Ronnie (Gloria) Whitehead of Valdosta, GA; Edgar Lee Whitehead (Wanda) of Fort Smith, AR and Danny Earl Whitehead of Valdosta, GA; Aunt: Bertha Mae Austin of Valdosta, GA; Extended Family: The Vickers’ Family and a host of caring nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including the staff and patients of Lakehaven-Pruitt Health nursing facility.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Pallbearers Cemetery @ 3 p.m. Pastor Williams will officiate.
