Kem Collins

It is with profound sorrow, we the Owners, Management and staff at Gatlin Mortuary, Inc. stand along side the Collins family as we announce the earthly transition of Mr. Kem Collins who passed into eternal rest December 27, 2022.

Kem Renard Collins, Sr., was born on May 20, 1972, in Albany, GA, to Mr. James Lewis and Mrs. Ann Collins. He departed this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the age of 50. He attended Early County High School where he was a triple threat excelling in all three sports, football, baseball, and basketball. He went on to play football at Holmes Community College and Mississippi State University. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Philadelphia Eagles fan. Kem Collins was a member of First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church and began serving on the deacon board on April 21, 2013, until he became ill. He was a devoted father, loving husband, and took great pride in being involved in all of his children’s sports activities. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Collins, grandfather, Richard Allen Collins, father, uncle, Clarence Collins, and brother, Todd Lewis. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Delleese Collins; five children, Qourtney, Markus, Kem Jr., Lakembria, and K’meelah; he also leaves behind two grandchildren, Payton and Eliana; two brothers, Cedric Lewis, Sr., (Pamela) and Xavier Lewis (Laskisha); one sister, Jamie Harris; two aunts, Carrie Wimberly (Robert) and Gloria Price (Kenneth); and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at First Antioch Missionary Baptist Church @ 2 p.m. Pastor Albert Barfield will officiant. Public Viewing will be held on Friday, January 6, 2023 at Gatlin Mortuary from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Internment will follow in the Pallbearers Cemetery.
