Mr. Benji Shanard Bristol

Walk in the light, beautiful light. Come where the dewdrops of mercy shine bright. Shine all around us by day and by night, Jesus is the light of the world. 

It is with sincere sympathy that Gatlin Mortuary, Inc. announces the passing of the late Benji Shanard Bristol. Born on Wednesday, December 21, 1977, the shined all around him by day and by night, it was Jesus is the light of the world. Benji, followed that light and entered into sweet rest on Saturday, August 26, 2023. 

The Bristol family would like to express their extreme gratitude for the support and encouragement that has been extended toward them. It was an honor to share Benji with those who loved him. Please know that every gesture has been recognized and appreciated. Please continue to keep us lifted in prayers, as we navigate life without him. Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. Benji Shanard Bristol was born in Jacksonville Florida to Gwendolyn Gatlin Bristol and Hiram Bristol. He attended Westconnett Elementary School, graduated from Frank H. Peterson Academy. He developed a love for trying different recipes and food tasting and continued his education in culinary arts. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. 

Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Tru-Way Church of The Risen Christ - 2297 Edison Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida. Bishiop Elect Elwyn Jenkins, officiating minister. Mr. James Gatlin Sr., and the caring and experienced professionals at Gatlin Mortuary, Inc., is in charge of services. "The Name You Can Trust"
