I’ve finished life’s chores assigned to me, So put me on a boat headed out to sea. Please send along my fishing pole For I’ve been invited to the fishin’ hole. Where every day is a day to fish, To fill your heart with every wish. Don’t worry, or feel sad for me, I’m fishin’ with the Master of the sea. We will miss each other for a while, But you will come and bring your smile. That won’t be long you will see, Till we’re together you and me. To all of those that think of me, Be happy as I go out to sea. If others wonder why I’m missin’ Just tell ’em I’ve gone fishin’.
It is with profound sorrow, that the Owners, Management and Staff at Gatlin Mortuary, Inc. stand alongside the Belcher Family to announce the transition of their beloved:
Mr. Terry Belcher Sr., was born to the late Bobby Belcher, Sr., and Catherine Belcher on July 13, 1972. He is the youngest of four children. He was educated in the Valdosta City School System. Mr. Belcher began his occupation at Bayliner until he pursued a career at South Georgia Medical Center. Throughout his life, Terry Belcher, Sr., was passionately involved in fishing, sports, cooking, and community activities. He touched countless lives through mentoring and coaching.
By the will of God, on Thursday, May 16, 2024, the sky became his deep blue sea. The clouds became his shore and there, for all eternity “TERRY” sat with friends galore. Each angel was a fisherman Who had traded his pole For golden wings and a game plan At Heaven’s Fishing Hole. Mr. Terry Belcher, Sr., leaves a legacy of love, faith, and precious memories to his devoted wife of 30 years, Valerie Belcher; loving children, Terry Belcher, Jr. (Tanganika), Tavoris Belcher (Shantrell), Ashley Belcher, Terrell Belcher, and Tyla Belcher; eleven beautiful grandchildren, Javyn Belcher, Nylah Belcher, MacKenzie Belcher, Tyson Belcher, Terry Belcher III, Josh Ponder, Jr., Tanner Belcher, Aiden Sims, Terrell Belcher, Jr., Amir Belcher, and Emerson Belcher; two brothers, Bobby Belcher, Jr., and Greg Belcher; one sister, Kathy Tate; and he was blessed with several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, as well as a special uncle, Travis Brooks.
