Ms. Luevern Joyce Bines

It is with profound sorrow, that the Owners, Management and Staff at Gatlin Mortuary, Inc. stand alongside the Bines Family, to announce the passing of the Joyous Life of Luevern Joyce Bines, “I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one. I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles with those I loved and those that loved me, when day is done!”

LUEVERN JOYCE BINES affectionately known as “Vern”, was born on December 30, 1958. To my loved ones and friends, I know you already miss me. But God saw just how tired I was. So, He (God) on Friday, June 9, 2023, dispatched the heavenly host to my bedside and granted me permission to move from this old house of mine, one that I have occupied for 64 years. You see, I've got another building and it's a building not made by man's hands.

In the highest sense, a person is not ultimately saved — “safe”—until he or she is no longer subject to death or to sin, which earns death. That is, we are not truly safe until “this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality” (I Corinthians 15:54).

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from the sanctuary of Greater Pleasant Temple Baptist Church, located at 309 Cherry Street, Valdosta GA. at 2:00 PM. Reverend Bernard L. Robinson Sr., is pastor and will officiate.  Services are entrusted into the care of Mr. James Gatlin Sr., and the caring and experienced professionals at Gatlin Mortuary, Inc. "The Name You Can Trust"
