Quin Vansha’ Bohannon

A Time to Be Born:

Quin Vansha’ Bohannon (affectionately known by family and friends as “Poobie and BoDilly”) was born on May 15,1990 to Anthony and Jacqueline Bohannon in Jacksonville Fl.  Quin was the grandson of the late James and Vera Dotson of Valdosta, Ga. and the late Leola and L.E. Bohannon of DeKalb Tx.

In addition to his grandparents, he was preceded in death by his Uncle David Bohannon and Aunts Debra Dixon, Mary Bohannon all of DeKalb, Tx. and Regina Alexander of Valdosta, Ga.

A Time to Be Educated:

Mr. Bohannon was educated in the Duval County School system.  He was a proud 2008 graduate of Mandarin High School.  At Mandarin High School, Quin was a defensive lineman #39, of the Mandarin High School Football team and he was also on the track team.

After High School, Quin received an athletic scholarship to play football for the Alabama State University Hornets. He was a defensive lineman #55. Quin graduated from Alabama State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management in December 2012.

A Time to Work:

After graduating from Alabama State University in December 2012, Quin moved back to Jacksonville, Florida where he began his career working for Merrill Lynch/Bank of America on January 23, 2013.  Quin served many positions during his nine years at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America; however, his final position was as a Global Market Operations Analyst.

A Time for Love:

One day in 2011 in a BA (Business Administration) class at Alabama State University, Danielle said she was hungry, and Quin replied, “well let’s go get something to eat”.  Their first outing together was at a Zaxby’s restaurant in Montgomery, Alabama. Fast forward to July 18, 2014 at the Copeland’s restaurant in Jacksonville FL. Quin asked Danielle to become his wife for life. On August 1, 2015, Quin and Danielle were united in holy matrimony.

A Time to Serve:

Quin was a man of many talents.  One of the things he loved to do was cooking.  In 2017, Quin became the owner and chef for the “We Are One BBQ and More Jax” and in 2022 “BoVo Grille”.  As an entrepreneur, Quin used his cooking skills to assist with events for local organizations such as the Sulzbacher Center, Urban League, Jasmyn Community Organizations, Grooms Therapy, and Edward Waters College (EWC) just to name a few. Quin was never far away from anything football related.  He volunteered his football and cooking talents for the Raines High School football team and he assisted with coaching for the First Coast High School Football team.
